We are Silvana and Robert Tesar, parents of Chiara, Luca, Maya, Tex and Frida (last 2 have four legs and have fur all year round), and we live in the outskirt of Vancouver, Washington. Here is our human history...the canine one at this point is reduced because we only have a dog and a quarter.;) We will update our site as we go...but let's start from the very beginning:
Growing up in the beautiful island of Sardinia, and then moving near Naples, Italy, my biggest dream as a child was one day to become a veterinarian. I spent my happy summer days swimming and digging little creatures on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, roaming the flowered meadows, or hiding with my friends on top of the fruit trees of the neighbors.
Many more years had to pass, before the majestic: "Bernese Mountain Dog "came into my life. I left Italy and moved to Los Angeles, to further my education, (unfortunately not in the veterinarian field, because I discovered I could not stand the site of blood!!!), and enjoyed traveling all over this magnificent Country. One of my husband and I very favorite places to visit, was a mountain called: "Big Bear," in Southern California. In a beautiful cold and crispy Winter morning, we were walking around Lake Arrowhead, when all of a sudden, there they were...a pair of incredible Bernese Mountain Dogs...a stunning vision by the lake and the snow, in all their splendor and mighty. I was struck cold by their beauty, and that was the beginning of all.
If we thought back than, that we were taken by the incredible Bernese Mountain Dog look alone, we really did not know what was coming.
Shortly after, we left Los Angeles and moved our family to the countryside of Washington. We had our home; our children, now it was time to finally get my Bernese Mountain Dog. We searched extensively, and finally in a spring morning of 2005 we went to get Tex at the airport. He arrived all wet and came out of his crate looking like an electrocuted grizzly bear ..O my .he was so beautiful and funny and so happy to see us, it was only a matter of time until, back in the car, we realized we were all heavily smelling like urine.
Thank you Tex, it has been so far an incredible ride, and the memories you had, are, and will build with us, will stay in our family way pass your time. You are the best dog anyone could wish for and this dream with all its efforts and hopes is dedicated to you and to your beautiful breed.
Our Goal
With the love for him, came the love and understanding for his breed, and therefore in 2008, we started considering the idea of creating a small program, based on European Lines, aiming to better the breed under every aspect. I started emailing breeders all over the States and Europe and read extensively in my quest to learn if this was a venture for us, and if he was a good candidate.
Besides being a gorgeous dog, by searching into his background, I also discovered champions, longevity, and good health. We truly believe he is a great ambassador for his breed, and are excited to start this family adventure.
Our ultimate goal is, while having fun raising our family of kids and dogs, to continue to educate ourselves and hopefully, produce one day beautiful, healthy puppies, that can bring happiness to many families, as our dogs bring to us. We are very humble in our quest and realize that the process of learning will never end.
We are not professional breeders, we do not have a kennel, and this is not our business or job. This is our hobby and joy. We stand behind our dog's health and temperament 100% and always will.
Thanks for reading, ciao
